How to add a PPTP connection with Windows 98 SE - Manual Procedure

Open up Windows 98 SE Control Panel: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Double clic on Réseau, and the following window will pop up:

Clic on Ajouter. The window Selection du type de composant réseau will appear.

Select Carte and then clic on Ajouter. Now to Selection de: Cartes réseau.

Clic on OK. On Reboot request prompted clic on OK. Once Windows is started again double clic con My Computer, and select Dial Up Networking. Then, double click on Nouvelle Connection:

As name for the connection type "Netsystem Tunnel", and into Séléctionnez une péripherique choose Microsoft VPN Adapter. Click on Suivant.

Into Nom ou adresse IP de l'hôte type vpn.netsystem.com. Clic on Suivant, and then on Terminer. Into Dial Up Networking select with mouse right button Netsystem Tunnel, then select Properties. Now to the performance improving settings. Open Windows 98 Controlo Panel: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Double clic on Réseau. 1. The following window will appear:

Into Propriétés select Taille de paquet IP and into Valeur set Grande. 3. Repeat steps 1. and 2. for Dial Up Adapter #2 (VPN Support). Clic OK and confirm reboot request. To activate SAT ADSLPLUS proceed like following. Check that data transponder selected is Netsystem::Videoportal

Connect to your ISP. Now connect to Netsystem Tunnel, with your Username and Password. Open your web browser and start surfing.
